So these are the scattered remnants of my first 30-ish hours in Bangkok over SongKran holiday (week off of school, woot!!). Important factors to keep in mind while viewing this particular set of fotos is:
a) I like exploring
b) sometimes exploring gets in the way of taking fotos because all I'm focusing on is absorbing what's around me and trying to keep my sense of direction calibrated
c) Bangkok (KrungThep) is a EXTREMELY large place and maps don't always work
d) the red-shirt protests were taking place at the time i.e.
e) significant and inconveniently placed portions of public transportation were cutoff/unavailable (I'm pretty sure that was the general goal of the parties involved in the protest)
f) Chris Hoffman is the gray-haired one. Acquaintence of ours from Seattle, WA

Live music at Route 66

For me, humidity = curly mess.
But Michelle looked fabulous in my stead.

Our Mongolian friend in the mall on the corner of Lumpini Park.
Best place for bathroom break between Sukhumvit and the river :)

please note the cook through the window laughing at us!

Exploring the back roads looking for a ferry port.

I wish I possessed the guts to paint my apartment orange.

Maybe mint green would do instead?

I feel so much safer already...

We finally found the ferry...
but we went the wrong way!! Oops on my part.
Good thing it was a beautiful night and a very cheap fare.

Monks are very respected here.

View from the deck of a pavilion we weren't supposed to be in.
