............and progresses to the semi-final.
We think... not actually sure, but don't you know that's what sports are all about?
Enthusiastic participation!
Stats don't really matter... neither does understanding why Scola and Jasen wear their hair long with only a head band (which looks majorly goofy by the way), nor the fact that we were due in Geography of Argentina over an hour ago...
so imagine this...
in a small 20x20 cafateria room...
Ok so maybe I wish it was this over the top, but the fact of the matter was... I didn't matter that I was late to class (because I had gotten so caught up in the game I never actually left the central library building until 15min after my class started) because about 2/3rds of my class was there in the 'buffet' watching the game anyways!!
One particularly wise English professor had actually brought his class down and assigned them busywork to complete, natuarally assuming that with their extreme ADHD they'd be needing something else to occupy their attention anyways (being that the majority of all English classes here at UNCuyo are comprised of females and girls here just don't get into sports the same way...) ... a couple friends picked my mind for definitions to help them with their People's magazine 'powerword' puzzles. This was of course during the one comercial break of the last 'temporada' or quarter.
Because after that it was no holds-barred insanity and tense emotion... and this is BASKETBALL we're talking about here people!!
I love these guys!!
I love these guys!!
What had been 45-ish students crowded into a small space quickly bloomed into a raucous crowd of 80+ as the classrooms emptied for 'recreo' (10 min recess) just in time to catch the last 30sec of Scola...Brasil....& more Scola!!!!!
final score: Argentina 93, Brazil 89
Scola: 37pts.
Man, que capo!!!!!!
Now as we all agree... if only Argentina could get Delfino, Jasen and maybe one other starter up in the multiple double digits simultaneosly (nothing against Delfino and his five 3pointers). Argentina would be golden! (ps: this is assuming you and I have already ranted on the fact that Manu Ginobili is out of the tournament with twins: newborn babies and injured ankles. Major bummer!! So much fun to watch... especially when he's playing for Argentina!)
