Finding Maylasia: otherwise known as land of the sore bottom

I'll be honest.
I blame trains.
Third class trains to be precise.

sneak attack!! technically here I'm taking a foto of the pretty rice on my plate but I also thought it would be useful to document one of the many reasons why Michelle and I get along so well... We both love to read! Anytime, anywhere, we usually have a book on hand. That or she's borrowing a book from me because she knows I have extras. Very early on in this trip we established the fact that neither one of us would be offended if the other read while waiting for meals, trains, buses, ferries... you name it, we waited for it! but we had books, so it was all good

View from up on the square of walkways downtown. These walkways were about 20-25 ft over traffic. very windy, great fun :)

I found a new sport!
it's bizarre, but imagine a cross between hackysack and basketball.

bridge 1: pretty lady (my roommate Michelle)

bridge 2: murky water
I love thailand. These were no more than 30 yds apart.

jazzercize everyone!!

The most splendid mustache these eyes have ever seen...
(and a very wet and bedraggled Kelsey)

offering to share her shelter
